A family company with big dreams
Biosa is a Danish family enterprise based in Frederiksværk, specialising in products with lactic acid bacteria and microorganisms for the health of living beings. Sustainability guides every decision: raw materials, energy and packaging.
As pioneers in their field, they continuously invest in new technologies to improve their products. Today they are present in more than 30 countries, and the company is run day to day by Eli and Ayan, children of founder Erik.

The founder
Erik Nielsen
Erik founded Biosa in 2002, after becoming passionate about fermentation and microorganisms from 1994 onwards. In the mid-1980s he moved from the world of business to biodynamic farming, searching for sustainable technologies for organic agriculture.
That search led him to research the effect of microorganisms on plant growth and on the health of animals and people. From that passion, Biosa was born — present today in more than 30 countries.

The name BIOSA
“BIOSA” combines BIOS (life, in Greek) and A (for agro, agriculture): a symbol of a deep connection with the earth and its microbial life. From it come the product lines: Terra Biosa (soil), Animal Biosa (animals) and Vita Biosa (life, humans).
